Clubs

Breakfast Club

In addition to the other extra curricular activities run by the teachers at Moor Nook School, a free Breakfast Club is provided.

The aim of the club is to provide breakfast to any child in the school free of charge. There is a voluntary contribution of 20p per day asked for to pay for any extra food that may be ordered specially. A breakfast of cereal, toast and fruit juice is served daily from 8.30 a.m. This provision helps to promote punctuality and a positive attitude towards school. It allows the children to share breakfast with friends in a familiar and relaxed environment whilst also offering parents extra help on busy mornings.

Lunch Time Clubs

Daily lunchtime clubs have been set up where children can play games and take part in activities each lunchtime. All children have the opportunity to take part at some time.

The lunchtime clubs are a reward for those children who earn it. It also aims to improve lunchtime behaviour and begin the afternoon in a more positive frame of mind.

Extra Curricular Activities

There are activities which take place at lunchtime or after school. It is important to point out that the teachers carry out these activities on a voluntary basis. The list below will give you some idea of the type of activity in which your child may be involved

  • FOOTBALL
  • NETBALL
  • CONSTRUCTION
  • MULTI SKILLS
  • ECO CLUB
  • BOARD GAMES
  • BAKING
  • DRAMA
  • COOKING
  • MINI SKILLS
  • ART
  • GARDENING

Whatever extra-curricular activities take place will reflect the interests of particular teachers. Some activities will lead to the possibility of competing against other schools and, therefore, representing the school. Parents will always be informed if children will be home late from school because of after school activities.

Educational Visits

For many years Moor Nook School has had a policy of outside visits as part of the children's studies. We feel this is a necessary and pleasant part of the child's general all-round education. All trips cost money and we hope you will support our policy with voluntary contributions towards these expenses. Without these contributions towards the cost, the trips cannot take place.
